RhodeCode 5.14.0 is now available with a refreshed interface, improved repository administration, SSH enhancements, and authentication fixes.
This release focuses on making everyday repository workflows clearer while improving reliability and control for teams running RhodeCode in production.
What’s new in RhodeCode 5.14.0
Refreshed UI
RhodeCode 5.14.0 introduces interface updates across key areas of the platform, including:
- navigation
- repository pages
- file browsing
The updated repository overview makes it easier to scan repositories, view ownership and recent changes, and move between projects.
Repository file browsing has also been refreshed, providing a cleaner layout for navigating files, branches, commits, and other repository actions.
These updates make everyday repository navigation and code browsing more straightforward while keeping the core RhodeCode workflow familiar.
Improved repository administration
Repository administrators can now assign existing user groups directly to repositories they manage.
This includes LDAP groups, allowing teams to reuse existing organizational group structures when managing repository access instead of assigning permissions user by user.
For organizations already using centralized identity and group management, this makes repository-level access administration easier to maintain.
SSH improvements
RhodeCode 5.14.0 introduces several improvements for Git-over-SSH workflows.
Git-over-SSH operations now have improved process cleanup and timeout handling, helping reduce issues with interrupted or long-running SSH processes.
Release also adds a process health probe for sshd, providing an additional way to monitor SSH-related processes in RhodeCode deployments.
For rcstack deployments, the release also includes SSH workflow checks covering operations such as clone, commit, push, and process cleanup.
SSH timeout settings can be configured to better match environments with large repositories or longer-running Git operations.
Authentication updates
Release introduces rc-normalize-extern-type to support safer downgrade scenarios by normalizing external authentication values before moving to older RhodeCode versions.
RhodeCode 5.14.0 also includes fixes related to LDAP and extern_type handling, improving compatibility with external authentication configurations.
Additional authentication fixes cover scenarios involving external authentication providers and LDAP-backed groups.
Additional fixes
RhodeCode 5.14.0 also includes fixes and reliability improvements related to:
- interrupted or timed-out Git-over-SSH processes
- SSH process cleanup
- SSH hook handling
- authentication compatibility
- LDAP and external authentication data handling
Upgrade to RhodeCode 5.14.0
The Docker image is available as:
rhodecode/rhodecode-ee:5.14.0
It is also available under the stable tag.
For rcstack installations, update with:
./rcstack self-update
The current rcstack version is 5.37.0, with RhodeCode 5.14.0 as the default image.
After upgrading, teams running large repositories or long-running Git-over-SSH operations may also want to review their SSH timeout settings.
code.rhodecode.com is already running RhodeCode 5.14.0.
