Data Protection & Cookies

All personally identifiable data collected via the website, web apps or services ("Platform") by RhodeCode, Inc. ("RhodeCode") are used exclusively for your individual support, to send product information or to communicate services, and are stored and processed by RhodeCode and its subsidiaries only.

If you choose to use the Platform without blocking or disabling cookies or opting out of other technologies, you will indicate your consent to our use of these cookies and other technologies and to our use (in accordance with this policy and the rest of our Privacy Policy) of any personal information that we collect using these technologies. If you do not consent to the use of these technologies, please be sure to block or disable them using your browser settings, the opt-out links identified in this policy, and/or the settings in your device.

General Advertising

The Platform does not collect or use personally identifiable information, with the exception of customer account information, which is voluntarily submitted to the Platform. We collect data that comes directly from our advertising partners and relates to events and business metrics. Our advertising partners provide us non-personal, statistical reports regarding the effectiveness of an ad. These reports do not contain any personal information about those who interacted with the ad. The information that we do receive is generated from ‘clicks' and/or impressions on our ads and enables us to best provide our customers with useful and relevant information

If you visit our website or receive our email newsletter, we may collect your contact information such as name and surname and email address. This information that we hold is not shared with anyone. We may use this information for internal purposes to send you a requested product, respond to your service requests, questions or concerns, administer your account, send you newsletters, and/or to improve our website and marketing efforts.

Used 3rd Party Services

The customer account information that is voluntarily submitted to the Platform, including the user information generated by cookies during the use of the Platform, can be shared with other 3rd Party Services as long as it does not allow for personal identification (i.e. does not include any personal identifiable information).

Behavioral Targeting / Re-Targeting

The Platform may partner with third party ad networks to manage our advertising on other sites. Our third party partners may use technologies such as cookies to gather non-personally identifiable information about your activities on this site and other sites in order to provide you advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests. If you wish to not have this information used for the purpose of serving you interest-based ads, you may opt-out at preferences-mgr.truste.com or in the European Union at youronlinechoices.eu.

In order to opt-out from all interest-based ads by RhodeCode, please, visit rhodecode.com/opt-out. Note, however, that this does not opt you out of being served general (non-interest based) ads by other advertisers.

Google Analytics

The Platform may use Google Analytics, a web analytics service offered by Google, Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). Google Analytics also uses cookies, files that are saved in the user's computer to analyze how the user uses the Platform.

The user information generated by cookies, during the use of the Platform, is usually transmitted to the Google server in the United States and saved there. As the Platform has activated IP anonymization, Google shortens the user's IP address (if the user is from European Union or from other EEA Member States).

The customer account information that is voluntarily submitted to the Platform (such as Organization Name) may be shared with Google Analytics as a part of the userId feature functionality of Google Analytics, as long as this information does not contain any personally identifiable information about the user.

At the Platform's request, Google will use the information to analyze user interaction and to draw up reports on the Platform website usage. The user can set the browser to block all cookies, including cookies associated with our platform, or to indicate when a cookie is being set by our platform.

In addition, users can disable cookies from forwarding the data collected on the website (including IP addresses) to Google and the transfer of the data to Google's servers for further processing. To provide users the ability to prevent their data from being used by Google Analytics, Google has developed the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for the Google Analytics JavaScript. To opt-out, download and install the add-on for the web browser from the Google Opt-Out Page.

Google AdWords and Google Advertising Network

The Platform may use Google AdWords. Google AdWords allows to create advertisements which will appear on relevant Google search results pages and within the network of partner sites by using technology that sends advertisements and links directly to the user's web browser. Google uses cookies to target advertising based on what's relevant to a user, to improve reporting on campaign performance, and to avoid showing ads the user has already seen.

Users may opt out of the interest-based ads by visiting the Google Ads Settings at: google.com/settings/ads/anonymous. Next to "Ads based on your interests", click the switch if it is in the ON position. In the dialog which opens, click the "SWITCH OFF" link to confirm your selection.

Additional information on Google advertising can be found at: google.com/policies/technologies/ads.

Bing Advertising

The Platform may use Bing Ads, the advertising platform used to show ads on the Bing and Yahoo search engines – also referred to as the Yahoo Bing Network. In order to opt-out from interest-based targeted advertising, visit the NAI consumer opt-out page or the DAA opt-out page.

The Platform's website can be integrated with Facebook (1601 S. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA) via the add-ons "Like" and "Share". For an overview of these add-ons, please visit the Facebook site.

When a user visits the website, a direct link between user's browser and Facebook is created. Facebook obtains information that the user's IP address has access to the Platform's web page. If a user is logged on and clicks the Facebook "Like" or "Share" buttons, the Platform's content can link to the user's Facebook profile, through which Facebook can reflect the usage of the Platform on the user's Facebook wall. The Platform cannot obtain any information on transferred data or how Facebook uses users' data. More information can be found by visiting Facebook's privacy policy.

The Platform may use Facebook Advertising. Facebook uses cookies to analyze how the user uses the Platform, to target advertising based on what's relevant to a user, to improve reporting on campaign performance, and to avoid showing ads the user has already seen.

If you do not wish for Facebook to use information based on your activity on websites or apps off of Facebook for the purpose of showing you ads, you can opt out in your Facebook settings. You can opt out from all participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance in the USA, the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada, or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance, or opt out using your device settings.
