Inside RhodeCode, No 2

Published on July 12, 2013, by Sebastian

This week we focused on finishing the first iteration of the website which went silently online today. We already have more content for the site prepared, especially more feature pages, but we are a little bit behind at the graphics for them and will upload them at the beginning of next week.

In our backend system we also prepared everything for the move from private beta to release. New users already get now a plan called "trial" assigned and a signup does not require a private beta invite anymore.

Marcin made the user server backup system production-ready and we do now full-backups of all RhodeCode servers on an hourly basis. Marcin also worked on improvements in the user interface of the RhodeCode web app and we will bring it online at the beginning of next week.

In general, we want to unify the user interfaces of the website and the RhodeCode web app and step-by-step renew and improve the UI and especially the UX of RhodeCode. Some pieces of the new UI elements you can see in the screenshots at our features page.

Next week, we will work on the user’s dashboard and add functionality like "change password" or "show my server details". I will also start to contact bloggers and ask if they want for reviews of Hosted RhodeCode.

And ... we will officially announce the release, so stay tuned :)

P.S.: if you like our new logo then head to the RhodeCode merchandise store, the quality of the print and the t-shirts are just great (we are wearing them now every day)!
