Hosted on SSD

We are happy to announce a new plan which uses solid-state drives as storage device. The SSD is set up as RAID 1 for high-availability. Thanks to the SSD, the performance of RhodeCode dramatically increases by the factor 8 to 10 because most operations within RhodeCode require direct access to Git or Mercurial metadata stored on the hard drive.

To keep the costs for all other plans low, we just added SSD to our most expensive plan, called "SSD" from now on, which is suited best for many concurrent users and a lot of repositories.

But of course, we would love to see SSD on all plans, better sooner than later. Please give us feedback if the hosting of RhodeCode on an SSD drive would be a very important feature for you and if you would be willing to pay a premium for it.
