RhodeCode Enterprise 2.2.4

Published on January 09, 2014, by Sebastian

We are happy to announce our first minor release of RhodeCode Enterprise in 2014. In that release we improve the security, extend the API and fix edge-cases.

Most of the new features are again based on the very valuable feedback of our largest customers and we are very thankful for the productive feedback we receive from these power users. They help to make RhodeCode Enterprise an even more rock-solid system for enterprises and drive together with us the product and innovation forward.

These are the major points of RhodeCode Enterprise 2.2.4:

1. Safer Remote Clone URL

The password in a remote clone URL is not displayed anymore. That makes it far safer to share and collaborate on repositories without unveiling your credentials to others. Also good to know: In the next major release 2.3.0 we do a giant leap towards a better, more flexible and more secure way of authentication. Stay tuned!

2. Extended API

Our API is a great tool to automate RhodeCode Enterprise and to really unleash all the power the system has in a large-scale setup. In 2.2.4 we added permission delegation to grant/revoke calls, the copy_permissions flag to create_repo_group and apply_to_children to grant/revoke methods of repository groups.

3. Better Integration

RhodeCode Enterprise is often embedded in a large and complex inhouse software ecosystem and we are working hard on making that embedding as smooth as possible. In 2.2.4 for example we improved the Windows support of the server information page, added support for the latest version of Git and improved support for the usage of Non-ASCII characters.

Please have a look at our versions page for a list of all improvements and fixes in the latest RhodeCode Enterprise.

How to Upgrade

RhodeCode Upgrade Dialog

Firstly, please upgrade the Installer itself by selecting the option at the Installer menu. To upgrade to the latest version of RhodeCode Enterprise just open the latest RhodeCode Installer (which is required since version 2.2.0) and select "Check for new RhodeCode Enterprise version".

We have bold plans for this year and can’t wait to unveil all the news :)

In the meantime, a Happy New Year from us and please keep on sending us your feedback. Thanks again for your ongoing support!
