RhodeCode has always offered its solution for free to universities and other qualified non-profits. Over fifty of the world's greatest universities and many nonprofits use RhodeCode. We’re all citizens of the same planet. RhodeCode's company culture honors the mission of making the world a better place.
In addition to the information on the website, below you will find a summary of key information, including RhodeCode Editions, upgrade options, and discounts for our university and nonprofit customers.
Community Edition (CE) 4.x: is an open source project under AGPL.
It has virtually all of the features of our 3.8 release, plus some exciting new features. For those using RhodeCode 2.x or 3.x, the upgrade to CE will be a simple and easy step. Open sourcing our product is already accelerating innovation. We are using our Slack channel to engage a growing global developer community, integrating ideas and code contributions from a diverse group of community members. Our Community Edition will get better, stronger, and faster as an open source project.
Enterprise Edition (EE) 4.x: is sold via a proprietary license to our enterprise customers.
Large companies require enterprise authentication features and dedicated support to address the scale, security, and workflow automation needs of their development teams. We use a production-proven version of RhodeCode CE as the core foundation for RhodeCode EE. Enterprise Edition delivers enterprise-focused features as extensions and plugins to RhodeCode CE.
As an open source project, RhodeCode CE provides some very attractive benefits:
Existing RhodeCode users can upgrade to either RhodeCode CE (for free) or RhodeCode EE (for a fee). However, our goal has been to make sure that the CE upgrade provides a complete and feature rich solution for your requirements. CE has virtually all of the 3.8 release features plus other improvements.
We offer universities and qualified non-profits an 50% discount over list price.
